Hi Ana, thank you very much for your beautifully written aritcles to share your feelings and culture with us! I enjoy reading them a lot. Today is Mid-Autumn Day, a traditional Chinese festival when family members gather together and miss each other while the moon tonight is especially clear and round. On this day, we usually have mooncakes, gingers with vinega, lotus roots, a kind of tangerine in China, and some fried peanuts. We'll miss you, looking at the round moon & having mooncakes!
Hi Ana, thank you for your nice articles to share your feelings and culture with us! I enjoy reading your blog a lot! Thank you for your great effort to do this!
Today is Mid-Autumn Day, a traditional Chinese festival when family members gather together or miss each other. It comes on the lunar calendar's August 15 with the moon clear and round, which indicates tuantuanyuanyuan(团团圆圆). We usually have round mooncakes, lotus roots, gingers with vinegar, a kind of Chinese tangerine, some peanuts, looking at the moon at night. Sometimes people light a fire in a brick-tower on the open air.
We miss you much especially on such a special day! Best wishes you and the family! --Jane
